To be considered for a volunteer role at Modem Teaser SA, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 20 years of age or older.
- Be available to arrive at the festival site according to the requirements of the specific volunteering programme you have applied for.
- Be able to commit to the programme for the allocated days.
- Turn up to assigned shifts on time and in a fit state to carry out duties.
- Be outgoing, have good communication skills and initiative.
- Be responsible and take care while performing your duties.
In exchange for participating in a volunteer programme you will receive a complimentary festival ticket.
DETAILS OF THE GATE TEAM VOLUNTEER PROGRAMME:
Volunteers in this programme play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth entry of festival attendees as well as helping maintain a safe, positive and enjoyable atmosphere at the festival, adding a unique and fulfilling dimension to the festival experience.
- You need to be available between Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th November 2024
- You will need to volunteer for 2 x 6-hour shifts
Gate Team Tasks :
- Ticket scanning.
- Issuing wristbands.
- Helping to maintain an organised flow of people entering the festival grounds.
- Report any issues or discrepancies to the gate manager.
Requirements :
- Pay R1500 cash deposit upon arrival to the festival. This is in order for us to ensure that you turn up on time and carry out the tasks delegated to you. In the past a number of applicants have accepted positions but then decided not to turn up or perform their duties. This puts unfair pressure on those who have turned up. You will receive your deposit back after both shifts are completed.
- Be available for your scheduled shifts.
- Follow instructions from the gate and festival managers.
- Coordinate effectively with other volunteers.
- Be approachable and friendly, creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the festival grounds.
- Be prepared to adapt to changing circumstances and assist with any unforeseen challenges that may arise.
- Understand the basic working environment of a festival.
